How the Organic Trade Association Transformed Its Digital Presence with a Future-Ready Website and Salesforce-Integrated Member Ecosystem
overview
The Organic Trade Association (OTA) represents the growers, processors, distributors, and retailers who power the organic industry across North America. OTA partnered with Aero Design to rethink its entire digital presence from the ground up. The result is a completely redesigned and rebuilt ota.com—one that supports advocacy, industry leadership, and member engagement through a powerful new Drupal 10 platform. With a Salesforce integration and a new member portal launching this summer, the site is now positioned to serve the needs of a modern trade association and the fast-growing organic movement.
challenge
OTA’s previous website was outdated, both visually and functionally. Content was difficult to manage, the navigation was unclear, and members had limited ways to engage online. The site didn’t reflect the professionalism or innovation of the organic sector, and it lacked the tools needed to support a growing, digitally savvy membership. At the same time, staff were juggling multiple disconnected systems for member records, content publishing, and email communications. OTA needed a future-ready platform that could unify these systems, streamline content workflows, and lay the groundwork for deeper member engagement.
our approach
Aero Design led a full-scale redesign and rebuild of the OTA website, with an emphasis on clarity, flexibility, and integration. We built the new site on Drupal 10 to give OTA’s staff modern tools for managing content, while integrating directly with Salesforce to maintain a single source of truth for member data. We reorganized the site architecture to surface key resources, policy updates, and press materials, and introduced a cleaner, more mobile-friendly design system. In parallel, we began development on a secure, Salesforce-powered member portal, scheduled to launch in summer 2025.
results
The new ota.com has transformed how the Organic Trade Association communicates with the public, policymakers, and its members. Site traffic is up, bounce rates are down, and staff now have full control over their digital content. With the Salesforce integration, member data flows cleanly between systems, laying the foundation for smarter outreach and engagement. Once the new member portal goes live, OTA will offer a seamless digital experience—from event registration and dues payments to resource access and member-only content. This project shows how Aero Design empowers associations to modernize with confidence—building digital ecosystems that grow alongside their missions.
